Mego Star Trek Captain Kirk 12½-Inch Figure Reproduction Box

“To boldly go where no man has gone before…”

Return to the golden age of science-fiction toys with this Mego Star Trek Captain Kirk 12½-Inch Figure Reproduction Box, carefully recreated to capture the distinctive artwork, colourful graphics and unmistakable 1970s styling of the original packaging.

When Star Trek first appeared on television in 1966, audiences were introduced to Captain James T. Kirk, the fearless commander of the USS Enterprise, portrayed by William Shatner. Alongside Mr Spock, Dr McCoy and the rest of his crew, Kirk explored strange new worlds, encountered mysterious alien civilisations and faced dangers far beyond the boundaries of known space.

Although the original television series ended in 1969, Star Trek became increasingly popular through repeat broadcasts during the 1970s, inspiring a growing range of toys and collectables.

Mego Corporation was at the forefront of this excitement, producing its famous Star Trek action figures and bringing the adventures of the Enterprise into children’s homes.

Alongside the familiar 8-inch figures, Mego also produced a larger 12½-inch Captain Kirk figure, offering collectors and young Star Trek enthusiasts a more substantial representation of the Enterprise’s legendary captain.

Dressed in his familiar Starfleet command uniform, the larger figure brought an extra dimension to imaginative play, allowing children to recreate their favourite television adventures or embark on entirely new missions across the galaxy.

The original box was an important part of the presentation, with its bold graphics and period styling capturing the excitement of Star Trek during one of its most nostalgic eras.

Why you’ll want it

Original packaging for the larger Mego Star Trek figures can be particularly difficult to find in good condition. Their size made them vulnerable to crushing, torn flaps and damage during years of storage, whilst many boxes were simply discarded once the figures had been removed.

This reproduction box provides an ideal way to reunite your 12½-inch Mego Captain Kirk figure with the packaging it once had, restoring the appearance of a complete vintage toy.

Whether you’re replacing a damaged original, completing a treasured childhood figure or displaying a collection of classic Star Trek merchandise, this reproduction helps bring back the excitement of those wonderful 1970s toy shop shelves.
